Nancy Cruz sent this great photo along with this note:
“My name is Nancy Cruz and reside in Rahway, New Jersey and I would like to submit my photo of my pink bike that my husband gave me for my birthday last year. I love riding it to the flea market in my town. People stop me and ask so many questions about it. As you can see from the photo, my husband even spray painted the rims pink. LOL. The best part of my bike is the Basket. I can remove it and carry it about if I wish. “
Jody writes: “It’s not fast, but it’s FUN! I won this bike (Trek: Bonnie) a couple of years ago at the April Fools Pentathalon (bike, kayak, fly a kite, build a sand castle, run up and down a dune) in Pacific City, Oregon. I used it for errands and cruisin’ all around town in Corvallis, OR, where we lived at the time. This summer we moved to Cape Cod. Now I use it everyday to commute to and from work. The best part about it is that people smile when I ride by on this bike!”
“I was searching the web for more pink accessories for my bike when I ran across your site. I went to an art event in the desert last year, www.burningman.com, where having a bike is essential, and decorating it is even better. I decorated my bike with hot pink duct tape with green accents. I had so much fun last year, that this year I added a purple canopy for shade, and lots of pink accesories like baskets, tassles and grips and seat cover. Also, I replaced the green tape with purple tape and added bright reflector strips in rainbow colors to the frame. It is wild! I will send an updated photo when I have it completed. But in the mean time, do you know of any websites that sell brightly colored bike stuff, like lime green, and hot pink, etc.? We leave in two weeks and I want my pink bike to be tricked out!!”
Note: I didn’t find things in time for Cynthia’s trip in 2007, but maybe some readers can leave some tips for her in comments.
“Hey Im from Hungary and just found your homepage. (Im looking for a pink vespa to buy!!) This is my pink bike, a real KTM Happy =) Enjoy!”
Thanks for the critical mass photos, Eve!
Siel of greenlagirl.com sent me a link to this photo of her friend Jeff on her pink townie bike. It’s not easy being green in Los Angeles, but that’s what she’s trying to do. Getting a bike was Siel’s first step to “de-car-ing.” Check out her blog entry describing her first day with her bike.
