Denise sent in this pic of her friend’s pink Trek. Here’s the story:
I’d like to introduce you to PINKY.
She is the first road bike I rode, and belongs to a friend of mine. His cousin gave him the frame and then he did it all up in pink. I love pinky to bits, but i had to return her to her rightful owner and have since bought my own bike.. which is black..
please put her up on your site, the owner will be super chuffed. His name is Sasman Mohamed (b@ckinBl@ck is his online moniker that you see on the chainstay)
John sent in three pictures, and writes:
“Thank you for the pink bike site! I’ve been pinkifying my bike for a couple years now. I ride a Trek 5200 that’s disguised. Here’s a pic of me with my bike right before doing a 23mph average Tour De Phoenix, my fastest ride ever! Also, there’s a shot of my pet duck on my bike. He likes attention so I can get him to pose pretty easily. I’m an amateur racer and love group rides. My favorite ride is Mt. Lemmon in Tucson AZ. Thanks to Arizona Cyclist for finding a bunch of my pink stuff. ”
Karen sent in this photo of her with her stunning Trek:
“A couple of friends told me about your site, it is great! My name is Karen Johnson and I live in Thousand Oaks, CA. I live very close to the Santa Monica mountains where I often ride… Latigo Cyn, Decker Cyn, Mulholland Hwy, etc. I have been road riding for 2 years as of May 2008. I bought my pink bike in Nov 2006, it is a Project one by Trek.. A Madone 5.2 SL. The Pink tires are from team estrogen. The saddle bag, bar tape and cables I got from my LBS. I am awaiting pink HUDS to come out April of 2008. As you will notice most everything on my bike is PINK!!
“Thanks again for a great site!”
Here’s Connie with her gorgeous Trek! she writes:
“I saw this link on Road Bike Rider and just HAD to share my pride and joy! My pink bike has purple flames and white flametips. Its a Trek 5.2 s.p.a. During riding season I ride about 100 miles/week, commuting to work and club rides. Off-season, I’m on the rollers 3-4 days/week. Everyone I ride with knows that pink is my favorite color!”
When I saw Sue’s Trek posted over on the Team Estrogen forum, I wrote to her immediately and asked her if I could post it over here.
“Sure, you can post a picture of my bike if you’d like. I ordered the frame from Trek with a Project One paint job and a friend built her up from that. All the pink and blue accents were his artistic vision.
“Her name is ‘Natalie Jean’.”
I got some new photos from Mindy! She writes:
“Hi Crystal …
“I had promised some pictures of me with my Pink Bike. Feel free to replace the one you have on the site for either of these…. I like these better … than the sparkly new bike in front of my couch!
“The first photo is taken at Tsali, North Carolina – the second at Winona Boys Club Trails, Winona Lake, Indiana….
“I LOVE my Pink Bike!
“My husband just made a ‘custom’ single speed for me….he brushed it out so it is silver – but it is all tricked out in Pink – my Roadie is also silver….but I always adorn it with my pink helmet!!!!”
EDITOR’S NOTE: Mindy had sent this photo and story in 2006, just after she got her new pink bike:
“Crystal! “My husband gave me this PINK bike for my ‘TRIFECTA’ Day – 2/14 Valentines Day/Birthday/Wedding Anniversary! Two years ago – he gave me my Specialized Road Bike…. this year I got this FABULOUS PINK Trek 6700 WSD Mountain Bike for our trailriding! I can’t wait for this winter to break and for the trails to open! When they do…. I’ll forward a photo of me with my Pink bike as dirty as it should be!!!!”
Daphne wrote to me after her husband bought her this beautiful carbon Trek, and she was wondering if I knew of a better-matching handlebar tape.
She writes, “I am a Canadian living in Saudi Arabia with my husband who is working there. We bought the bike with a triple crank for our vacation in France this summer. The Trek was awesome and got me up all the big climbs in the Pyrenees. We even rode to the top of one of the mountain stages of the Tour de France – the Plateau de Beille. As I was one of the very few females RIDING up the mountain, I got a lot of attention – which was all directed at my pink bicycle.”
Tracy from Maine writes:
“I stumbled across your website and had to send a picture your way of me and my pink bike.
“I found this bike this spring, after looking all over southern Maine and parts of New Hampshire for the right bike I found this one. It was the ONLY Pink bike in the shop and I fell in love with it. It’s a TREK 2200 with all ultegra components. I recently finished a 3 day bike trek, I had the only pink bike… it was really cool to hear all the comments from the other cyclists.”
